Year 11 Business and Economics classes travelled to the Bank of England and Chelsea Football Club

On the Thursday 4th December the Year 11 Business and Economics classes travelled up to London to the Bank of England and Chelsea Football Club.

Student Emily Hughes wrote:  “We thoroughly enjoyed the day and managed to apply our business and economic skills in both of the places.
Firstly, in the Bank of England, we learnt about money, prices and the value of money, controlling spending, the financial system, the ‘money-go-round’ and how the bank works. These are things we can only touch on in our GCSE courses, but hearing and understanding how they apply to the real world was really useful.
At Chelsea Football Club, we were taught the Business of Football which was very interesting; especially the different income and expenditure sources.

The trip was extremely well organised and we’d like to thank Mrs Blackman, Mr Harris, Mrs Hartley, Mrs Webb and Mr Gatehouse who made the trip successful, we all really enjoyed ourselves!”
