Final days and Fond Farewells.
Carrying on the theme of “making the most of every moment in Valencia”, on Tuesday our Spanish Exchange students spent some time at the amazing Bioparc in Valencia. They got up close with lemurs and impressed the guide by insisting that everything be explained to them in Spanish, and Ranelagh teachers by showing them quite how well their listening and speaking skills in Spanish had come on in a short space of time. After a quick trip to the beach, our pupils were invited to a surprise meal with their exchange partners. Then it was home to pack cases ready to leave.
The prolonged farewells at the bus and the tear-stained faces of both Spanish and French partners as we set off were testament to what a fantastic trip it had been. Some firm friendships were made in the week between both staff and pupils at the Spanish school and ours. Our welcome could not have been warmer and we are sure that we will keep in touch. The school in Spain reported that the parents in the school had all commented on how great an effort Ranelagh students had made to speak Spanish and how polite and considerate they had been. We were very proud to hear this and to have been able to spend a highly memorable and useful few days in Valencia. ¡Muchas gracias a todos!
