After an early start, the group of 39 students taking part in this week’s exchange trip to Valencia arrived safely to a surprisingly cloudy Valencia where they received a very warm welcome, and there was lots of excitement as students met up with their partners who stayed with them earlier in the year. After enjoying the lunch that had been laid on for them, students spent the afternoon in our partner school, visiting classes and taking part in games and challenges. The reception class enjoyed playing a game of “find the paella ingredient”, and in other classes they had to dance, sing or be interviewed.
It was lots of fun, and there were lots of happy faces, not least those of the teachers who “enjoyed” the opportunity of dressing up photo booth style in hats and boas for a Spanish selfie! After a busy afternoon it was back to their partners’ homes for dinner and bed.
On Friday the sixth form will be in school perfecting their Spanish whilst the younger students visit the city and chat to the locals and we all meet up in the evening for a dinner at the school. We have a packed itinerary and are sure it is going to be a fantastic trip.
