It was an early start for our pupils on Friday, straight into lessons in Spanish at our partner school. Some impressive art and craft was produced by Year 10 who also held their own in Maths. Year 12 stayed in school for more total immersion, whilst the rest of the group toured the old town in central Valencia. We climbed tours and visited the cathedral. A highlight was our visit to the market where there was fierce competition between teams of Year 10 to buy the most varied typically Spanish food for a small sum. They impressed with their Spanish speaking skills, ability to barter and their willingness to try new and exciting food, although one group did manage to feed Mr Drummond some rather strange biscuits that we later discovered were designed for parrots rather than PE teachers! The day was rounded off with some light shopping and then it was back to the school for a party. The courtyard proved the perfect place for some dancing, Spanish style. A good day was had by all.
