Spelling Bee – Regional Finals

The year 7 Spelling Bee school winners spent the afternoon in Brighton on Wednesday 20th April, battling it out against other schools in the South East Spelling Bee finals.  We are delighted to announce that Emilie Woodman (7W) won the regional cup and medal for Spanish, giving the best performance of all Spanish contestants from the region.  This is an absolutely fantastic achievement.  She has now been invited to compete at national level in Cambridge, in May. We wish her all the best.
Ella Azzopardi (7X) and Morgan Pearcey (7W) were up against some stiff competition in the French Spelling Bee, and also ended up against each other in a tie break for a place in the semi-finals. Both are to be congratulated on very courageous performances. The judges commended Morgan on his excellent accent and Ella on being very quick and confident.
