Today was the last day of term for the Colegio Decroly and, whilst Spanish students were in lessons, we caught the metro to the Plaza Mayor, the main, historic square in the middle of Madrid. After students popped into tourist information to practise their Spanish, we walked on to the Palacio Real and then met up with exchange partners to enjoy the amazing views from the Cibeles rooftop. We picnicked in the sun in the Retiro Park before going on an Easter egg hunt, then rowing on the lake. …..judging by the number of boats going round in circles, the Ranelagh entry for the Henley Regatta might need a route map! Students are now home for their last evening and tomorrow with families. The warm weather is finally here for our last 48 hours and Madrid is full of blossom and beautiful in the spring sunshine. Do we have to go home?
