Duke of Edinburgh

Forty nine year 10 Bronze participants headed to the Chiltern hills at the start of March to experience for many their first time camping and carrying a heavy rucksack for 6 hours of the day. This proven to be difficult for some and required determination to get to the end. This was not helped by the rain that started at 11.00am and continued through the night. There was very little moaning, with a never give up attitude. They then settled down at camp to cook their meal, which generally consisted of pasta, tomato sauce and some extra rain water for good measure. Each group did a fantastic job and are looking forward to their qualifying expedition in July in the New Forest. Fingers crossed for better weather.
