Fifty Year Ten students took part in the ‘Biology Challenge’, an annual national competition run in March by the Institute of Biology. There are questions set on the GCSE Biology curriculum but the challenge also rewards those students’ whose knowledge of the subject has been increased by reading books and magazines, watching natural history programmes, taking notice of the news media for items of biological interest, and are generally aware of our natural fauna and flora. Questions categories included Biology by numbers, alphabet Biology, skulls, cell structure and food chains.
Gold certificates were awarded to Will Dack, Philippa Dodwell and Oliver Warren. Silver certificates were awarded to Rebecca Ayres, Jenna Benbow, Michelle Conning, Christopher Garrett, William Hancox, Elisha Paine, Charles Taylor and Dan Whitsed. Bronze certificates were awarded to Ralph Anderson, Esme Brown, Fiona Coveney, Elena Ingham, Luke Russell and Andri Williams. Congratulations to everyone that took part.
